About

I created The Awaited Journey in 2018 to offer holistic support that guides and empowers you to reach your goals.

I use evidenced-based frameworks and a holistic perspective to help clients learn how to treat their mind, body, and soul.

Relying on the therapeutic approach that best fits each client, I am an experienced practitioner of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Reality Therapy, Jungian Theory, and Person-Centered Therapy. I also specialize in working with trauma-related mental health disorders, anxiety disorders, and substance use disorders through the use of Brainspotting. When used in conjunction with traditional therapy, I believe in the beneficial properties of integrative, alternative, and holistic modalities of treatment while on the healing path.

About Me

During college, I specialized and participated in behavioral neuroscience research, examining the effects of amphetamine in the brain’s reward pathway as well as the effects of enrichment during childhood and adulthood in regard to addiction. I went on to receive my Master’s degree, beginning my work in community mental health and treating personality disorders, mood disorders, substance use disorders, and providing crisis intervention. I then practiced in the corrections setting, working with adult and juvenile sex offenders. As my career continued, I gained extensive experience practicing in outpatient and residential substance use treatment settings, leading me to specialize in treating substance use, dual diagnosis, and trauma related disorders.

I am also trained in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and Ketamine Integration Therapy. I have a special interest in working with integrative & alternative forms of therapy, including psychedelic support, integration, and harm reduction. My experience in psychedelic facilitation includes being part of a clinically licensed team in the Kansas City area that helped with psychedelic education, preparation, facilitation, and safety for the participants in FDA-approved Clinical Trials with Psilocybin and 5-MeO-DMT. I also have extensive experience volunteering for compassionate support and harm reduction organizations at music festivals since 2017, providing services to educate others about harm reduction and to help those struggling with psychedelic experiences and integration. I received my certificate in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy from the Psychedelic Research and Training Institute in 2021 and offer this service as an adjunct to other traditional therapies.
